'OHYESLORD' is an urban streetwear clothing brand created by Mbulelo Hamilton Thindisa' better known as ‘HAM’.
We were blessed by having an opportunity to have a brief sit down with the clothing creative and explore his vision. So, we set up an interview with the man behind the prosperous 'OHYESLORD' brand and there was no better place to do it but at his point of sale, the RHTC Store in Braamfontein.
Apart from being listed in the Top' 5 South African Streetwear Brands On The Rise by 'THE PLUG' magazine and also having a feature-spread on 'HYPE Magazine in 2016, 'OHYESLORD' has solidified a growing following from not only a cult of loyal fans but also by steadily growing its brand in the South African Streetwear culture.
'OHYESLORD' has managed to set its clothing line apart from any local brand you can stumble upon.
It’s only July but it’s safe to say THE HOLIDAY SEASON IS UPON US.
We walked into the store on a Thursday night, the store was relatively busy for that time of day, and regardless of the influx of customers, we were received with the warmest of hands.
HAM was very distinct as he was completely dressed in 'OHYESLORD' merchandise and just from this alone, you could see that this is someone who lives and breathes his brand, which was refreshing to see. Hamilton made sure we knew that 'OHYESLORD' is not a business that sells a product but rather a business that sells personality.
In just a space of 15 minutes, we got to see beneath his very humble persona, and he shared with us a piece of his Genius Collection.
I could go on and on about everything we spoke about, but honestly, what my team and I witnessed there was one of those “you should have been there” types of moments. Therefore, to get the full experience we recieved, watch the video of the creative soul behind 'OHYESLORD'.
